Seeding

Sending free product to content creators with no strings attached, hoping some make organic content about it. The lowest-cost awareness channel when it works.

Seeding (or creator seeding) is the practice of sending free product to content creators — typically TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube creators in your niche — with no obligation to post. A percentage create organic content about the product anyway, which drives both direct sales and longer-term brand awareness.

Economics: sending $2,000 of product to 100 creators in a month produces maybe 15-25 organic posts. If 2-3 of those go moderately viral, the ROI on that $2,000 of inventory can be 10-50x what the same dollars would buy in paid ads.

Seeding works best when: (1) the product is genuinely novel or visually compelling on video, (2) you target creators whose audience matches your buyer, and (3) you make the seeding package effortless to open and film (unboxing thought-through, clear branding, easy-to-use product).
