Social Proof
Evidence that other people are buying, using, and enjoying your product — reviews, UGC, press mentions, customer counts. The single most powerful objection-killer.
Social proof is evidence that other people have bought, used, and liked your product: written reviews, photo reviews, video testimonials, press mentions, customer counts, "as seen on" logos, UGC creators tagging the brand. It's the single most powerful objection-killer in ecommerce copy.
The social proof stack that consistently lifts CVR on PDPs:
- 50+ reviews with an average of 4.5+ stars, visibly displayed above the fold.
- Photo or video reviews from real customers (not just text).
- Press logos if you have any.
- Customer count claims ("Over 50,000 sold") if true.
A new store with zero reviews has to manufacture social proof by other means — UGC in ads, founder-story credibility, affiliate mentions — because the PDP's native proof well is empty.
