Angle
The specific message or story frame of an ad — the "why" behind the pitch. One product can have 5-15 different angles, each aimed at a different audience.
An angle is the specific message, story frame, or pain-point lens used to sell a product. The same product can have a dozen different angles, each of which tests differently against different audience segments.
Example — a posture-correcting brace:
- Back pain angle: "Tired of chronic back pain from sitting all day?"
- Office worker angle: "The posture fix that remote workers swear by."
- Aesthetic angle: "Stand taller, look 3 inches slimmer."
- Authority angle: "Chiropractors are recommending this to patients."
- Athlete angle: "Lift heavier — fix posture before it costs you a PR."
Finding a winning angle is usually a bigger unlock than finding a winning product. Angle testing is how operators squeeze two or three more life-cycles out of a product they already know works.
