GTIN

Global Trade Item Number — the unique product identifier (usually a UPC or EAN barcode) required to sell on Google Shopping, Amazon, and most marketplaces.

A GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is the unique product identifier — usually a UPC (12-digit US format) or EAN (13-digit international format) — that uniquely identifies a product SKU globally. Google Shopping, Amazon, Walmart, and most major marketplaces require valid GTINs for most products in most categories.

For dropshippers pulling generic products from AliExpress or CJ, GTINs often don't exist, which is why many Google Shopping campaigns on dropshipping products silently under-perform: without valid GTINs, product matching degrades and the feed competes on weaker signals. Purchasing GTINs (legit ones from GS1) is a standard upgrade for any operator running serious Google Shopping or expanding to marketplaces.
